Yamaha XTO 425 Engine Specifications
This engine is a V8, DOHC, 32-valve design (4 valves per cylinder) with 5.6L displacement and a bore x stroke of 96 x 96 mm (3.78 x 3.78 in). It uses direct injection fuel induction rated up to 2900 PSI, a compression ratio of 12.2:1, and runs on 89 octane recommended fuel with a maximum ethanol blend of 10%. Full throttle RPM range is 5,000–6,000 RPM, and the engine carries a C.A.R.B. 3-Star emissions rating.
Yamaha XTO 425 Electrical, Ignition, and Lubrication
Ignition is handled by a TCI microcomputer system with ILMAR7E-9 iridium spark plugs, and starting is electric with power trim and tilt (PTT). The alternator delivers 100 amp gross output at wide-open throttle. Lubrication is a wet sump system using Yamalube 4M recommended engine oil, with an oil capacity of 7.8L / 8.2 quarts or 7.5L / 7.9 quarts depending on configuration. Cooling is thermostatically controlled, and recommended fuel filtration is a Yamaha 10-micron fuel/water separating filter (external).
