Yamaha F40 Jet Drive Engine Specifications
This engine is a 3-cylinder design with 747cc displacement and a bore x stroke of 65 x 75mm (2.56 x 2.95 in). It uses Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), a compression ratio of 9.4:1, and runs on 87 octane recommended fuel with a maximum ethanol blend of 10%. Full throttle RPM range is 5,000–6,000 RPM, intake is 6-valve, and the engine carries a C.A.R.B. 2-Star emissions rating. Exhaust routes through the jet nozzle.
Yamaha F40 Jet Drive Electrical, Ignition, and Lubrication
Ignition is a CDI microcomputer system with a DPR6EB-9 spark plug, and starting is electric. The alternator delivers 16 amp output at wide-open throttle. Lubrication is a wet sump system using Yamalube 4M recommended engine oil, with an oil capacity of 1.7L / 1.5L. Cooling is thermostatically controlled, and recommended fuel filtration is a Yamaha 10-micron fuel/water separating filter (external).
