Yamaha VF225 Engine Specifications
This engine is a V6 design with 4.2L displacement and a bore x stroke of 96 x 96mm (3.78 x 3.78 in). It uses Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), a compression ratio of 10.3:1, and runs on 89 octane recommended fuel with a maximum ethanol blend of 10%. Full throttle RPM range is 5,000–6,000 RPM, intake is 24-valve, and the engine carries a C.A.R.B. 3-Star emissions rating.
Yamaha VF225 Electrical, Ignition, and Lubrication
Ignition is handled by a TCI microcomputer system with an LFR6A-11 spark plug, and starting is electric. The alternator delivers 70 amp output at wide-open throttle. Lubrication is a wet sump system using Yamalube 4M recommended engine oil, with an oil capacity of 6.7L / 6.4L.
